Ocean Bloom Seaweed Moisturiser Review
[vc_row][vc_column][sm_column_text]Hello, I thought I am going to write about my all time favourite moisturiser. Ocean Bloom Seaweed moisturiser is simply amazing…. For me anyway 🙂 You can find it online here.
Some people are initially afraid of switching over to an organic/natural face cream, concerned that it might not be as effective as other products or they might get an allergic reaction to one of the ingredients. The good news is that organic products are just as good for your skin, if not better than generic shop bought brands. An organic face cream is packed with nourishing, natural nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants to make skin healthier, hydrated and more youthful, while at the same time remaining gentle on skin. Natural skincare products are formulated without harsh detergents, chemical preservatives, artificial fragrances and other harsh ingredients.[/sm_column_text][sm_custom_heading heading_tag=”h4″]Product Description[/sm_custom_heading][sm_column_text]Ocean Bloom’s Seaweed Moisturiser is a beautiful super light moisturiser with an array of oils, fruit extracts, hibiscus plant extract, gota kola, grapeseed and apple fruit extracts, hyaluronic acid to leave your skin feeling supple and moisturised. Organic Aloe Vera Leaf Juice – It treats sunburn, it acts as a moisturiser, it treats acne, it fights ageing,  lessens visibility of stretch marks,  so in general it is a great skincare ingredient, i think loved by all 🙂
Emulsifying Wax NF – (Cetearyl Alcohol and Polysorbate 60). It is used to bind oil and water together in creams, lotions etc. It is a white waxy solid with a low fatty alcohol odour. It has the characteristics of cetyl alcohol combined with the viscosity building effect of stearyl alcohol as an effective thickener and helps form extremely stable emulsions in either w/o or o/w preparations.
Palm Free Vegetable Glycerin – is a skin-friendly humectant which draws water to the skin. It has wonderful emollient and water-retaining properties.Organic Sunflower Oil
Organic Olive Oil – Antioxidant protection, doesn’t clog pores, contains three major antioxidants: vitamin E, polyphenols, and phytosterols
Organic Coconut Oil
Organic Shea Butter
Organic Apricot Kernel Oil
Zinc Oxide – Inert earth mineral used as a thickening, lubricating, and sunscreen ingredient in cosmetics. Along with titanium dioxide, zinc oxide is considered to have no risk of skin sensitization. It can also be a soothing agent and, potentially, an antioxidant. Nano-sized zinc oxide is not believed to be a safety concern for skin.
Silk Peptide Protein – Â Unique properties of Silk known by recent science are very versatile and are found to be such as modulating moisture, absorbing UV,promoting collagen formation, accelerating cell regeneration, anti-inflammatory. Anti-bacterial and enzyme stabilising.
Silk Peptide is partially hydrolysed silk fibroin powder and is highly skin and hair compatible.
Vitamine E
Vitamine C
Organic Hibiscus Flower Extract
Rice Bran Oil
Organic Grape Seed Extract
Organic Gotu Kola Extract
Organic Apple Fruit Extract
Hyaluronic Acid – Hyaluronic acid is an effective anti ageing ingredient used in a lot of creams and moisturisers today because of its ability to retain moisture and fill up the spaces between collagen and elastin in your skin which leads to less wrinkles and fine lines appearing.
Organic Seaweed Extract
Palm Stearic Acid –
Stearic Acid is considered a low to moderate hazard ingredient by the Cosmetics Database, which notes concerns regarding cancer, and lesser concerns regarding neurotoxicity, organ toxicity and irritation. One or more animal studies showed brain and nervous system effects, respiratory effects and skin irritation at very low doses, and in vitro tests on mammalian cells show positive mutation results (leading to its designation as a potential carcinogen).
However, Stearic Acid is generally considered a safe and mild ingredient when it is concentrations below limits that have been shown to cause irritation.
Xantham Gum – low hazard ingredient, and it is “Classified as not expected to be potentially toxic or harmful,” although there are large data gaps in available information regarding this ingredient’s use as a cosmetic additive. Â Xanthan Gum prevents oil separation in formulas and helps to suspend particles. This ingredient thickens formulas and keeps them homogenous in their containers, but still allows formulas to become thin if shaken, allowing for an easier dispersion. After a formula is stable again, it becomes thick
Ethylhexylglycerin – A synthetic skin-softening agent also used as a preservative, a carrier, or suspending agent for other preservatives such as phenoxyethanol.
Phenoxyethanol – Phenoxyethanol is a synthetic preservative that’s manufactured using a complex process where phenol is treated with ethylene oxide. Phenol is a mildly acidic white crystalline solid that can be obtained from natural or chemical sources. Ethylene oxide, also known as carbolic acid, is a colorless gas or liquid that is considered carcinogenic. Phenoxyethanol has been found to be toxic to the body even in small doses.

[/sm_column_text][sm_custom_heading heading_tag=”h4″]Summary[/sm_custom_heading][sm_column_text]I love finding a wonderful face cream that feels like a treat for my ski… what can I say, I love a bit of TLC! 😀 I plan on ageing well so I drink about 2 litres of water a day and I make sure to mind my skin, especially my face. I love face masks and moisturiser that have active natural ingredients.
When I came across Irish skincare brand Ocean Bloom, I was curious and to be honest, once tried, I was amazed and hooked. Ocean Bloom is owned and run by Cheryl Cleminson and she has created a fantastic natural Irish skincare range.
Ocean Bloom seaweed moisturiser is packed full of all natural ingredients. The combination of these natural ingredients has created an amazing product that leaves my skin soft, soothed and moisturised.
The product encourages soft, smooth skin and it achieves just that. It leaves my face feeling so soft and fresh.
I am still on the look out for Phenoxyethanol free day cream.
